Notice of Copyright Act
This Act made copyright law, see Consolidation Act No 164 of 12 March 2003, with the changes imposed by Act No. 997 of 9 December 2003 and Law No. 352 of 19 May 2004.
Reproduction for private use
§ 12 Of a published work, any manufacture or have manufactured some copies for his private use, provided it is for business purposes. Such copies may not be used otherwise.
Paragraph 2. The provision in paragraph. 1 gives no right to
1) construct an edifice
2) produce a copy of a work of art by casting, the specimens from the original plate or a stick or in any other manner which implies that the copy may be perceived as an original,
3) produce copies of computer programs in digitized form,
4) reproduce in digital form of databases, where reproduction is based on a version of the database in digital form, or
5) produce individual copies in digital form of other works than computer programs and databases unless it is purely the personal use of the maker or his household.
Paragraph 3. Notwithstanding paragraph. 2, No. 5, it is not permitted without the author's consent to reproduce in digital form on the basis of a specimen that is borrowed or rented.
Paragraph 4. The provision in paragraph. 1 gives no right to use foreign technicians for reproduction, when there is
1) musical works,
2) films
3) literary works, if the foreign technicians involved in a professional capacity,
4) works of applied art or
5) works, where reproduction takes the form of an artistic rendering.
Paragraph 5. The provision in paragraph. 1 do not give the user the right to reproduction of musical works and films to use technical equipment available to the public at libraries, in business premises or at other public places. The same applies to literary works, provided the technical equipment is made available for commercial purposes.
